Chipton-Ross is seeking a HR Generalist II for a contract opportunity in Middletown, VA.

This role supports the new Clinical Diagnostics Division (CDD) business unit in Middletown, VA, part of the group of diagnostics businesses. We are focused on increasing access to affordable innovations in diagnostic testing and enabling data-driven decisions. The HR Generalist will provide core, common, and consistent HR solutions to provide large scale project support to CDD team. Under the direction of HR leadership, this position is responsible for managing day-to-day Human Resource functions including: positive employee relations, HR compliance, on-boarding, record keeping, training and development, compensation and performance management.

Evaluate and advise on programs or strategies that impact the attraction, motivation, development and retention of the people resources of the business
Provide HR support on HR policies and processes
Counsel and/or coach employees and managers regarding employee relations issues including performance management, facilitation of formal/informal complaints to resolution, discipline and/or terminations in line with local culture and the business and legal environment
Promote use of the Colleague Service Center to solicit HR process/functional advice
Partner with site, HR shared services, and Business leaders to oversee and provide guidance on site activities, shape culture, and drive employee engagement
Responsible for remaining up to date on relevant US, and state employment laws and other human resources compliance issues. Update management on policies/processes as necessary. Responsible for oversight and coordination of any regulatory requirements including OSHA compliance and Equal Employment Opportunity
Collaborate with other peers, subject matter experts and field HR reps to resolve employee issues in a thorough and timely manner
Perform other duties as assigned

Must have experience in various aspects of human resources (staffing, compensation, employee relations and organizational development)
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, experience using a HRIS data base and reporting application
Successful candidates will be highly collaborative, results driven, and have a passion for providing an exceptional customer experience
Strong analysis, problem solving, decision making, negotiating and influencing skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), along with demonstrated ability to build positive professional relationships, influence leaders and use negotiation skills with various levels in the organization is required
Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, work independently, multi-task, and follow up on projects and issues
Demonstrate values – Integrity, Intensity, Innovation and Involvement
Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies to include CA state and Federal labor laws.

Bachelor’s degree in either Human Resources or a business-related field required


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
