Chipton-Ross is seeking one Production Test Technician 1 for a contract opportunity in San Diego CA.

Sets up test apparatus and conducts tests of production assemblies and units following methods, procedures, standards, and sequences. Lays out and assembles units for production equipment according to designs and specifications. Adjusts and calibrates systems as needed. Modifies equipment by adding, removing, or altering components as defined by predetermined diagrams and sketches. Corrects malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts or components as directed. Uses hand and small power tools, and various measuring and testing devices in performing job duties. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

High school diploma and 0-3 years of experience.
o Mechanical assembly of load application and restraint mechanisms and structures
o Installation of test instrumentation for force, strain, and deflection
o Execution of test per exacting procedures and requirements
o Experience in composite manufacturing, assembly, and handling of flight hardware
o Practical mechanical experience, including use of mechanical tools, torque wrenches, drilling, tapping, and metal cutting and finishing
o High mechanical and electrical aptitude to learn the build-up of test setups with instrumentation
Travel 10% of the time

Use of hand tools, forklift, any mechanical or structural experience, and experience with composite manufacturing is preferred
Any tech schooling or certs preferred

High School Diploma/GED is required.
School must be accredited.

9/80 schedule, so every other Friday is off.
Hours are 5 AM-2:30 PM. Expect about 5 to 8 hours per week of OT with the position.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
