Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking two Microelectronic Technician 2 for a contract opportunity in Manhattan Beach, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Wire or ribbon bonding/welding including setup and manual operation of thermos compression and thermos sonic wedge bonding, ball bonding, and welding equipment in order to build, rework, or repair hardware.
Screening of assemblies including destructive and non-destructive bond pull testing, visual inspection using microscopes, examination against drawings and process specifications.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
A High School diploma is required.
Experience that demonstrates manual dexterity and use of hand tools (work with tweezers, blades, scribes and probes)
Computer & communication skills (Microsoft Office, drawing and work instruction look up)

PREFERRED:
Familiarity with bond/welding machines such as West Bond, Miyachi Unitek, TPT, K&S
1-3 years of experience wire/ribbon bonding or welding onto components such as substrates and chips
Experience in a ESD and FOD controlled lab environment
Familiarity with a shop order or manufacturing execution systems (MES)
Experience as a lead or trainer
Demonstrated implementation of process improvement


EDUCATION:
High School Diploma/GED is required.
School must be accredited.

HOURS:
9/80 workweek.
100% On-Site
This position will be for 2nd shift assembly. Training will be on 1st shift for 6 months until fully trained (7am-4:30pm). After training is complete, technician will be moved to 2nd shift (2:30pm - 12am)

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
