Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking one Engineer Software 2 for a contract opportunity in Huntsville, AL.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Derive and allocate requirements into detailed design
o Designs, develops and tests displays, controls and functionality
o Designs, develops and tests simulation software for use in high fidelity simulation based training systems; training systems may include a combination of console and weapon system simulations, virtual reality, and augmented reality
o Design and develop artificial intelligence algorithms to tutor, assess and evaluate learner knowledge
o Develops and maintains databases to monitor and analyze learner and system performance
o Collaborates with Systems and Quality Engineers to ensure software requirements are met
o Performs software peer reviews, version control, automated tests, software analysis, continuous integration, and continuous delivery in accordance with DevSecOps processes and best practices
o Performs code quality management and corrects defects
o Coordinates with HW/SW team to perform retests and regression tests once defects are corrected

REQUIREMENTS:
o Bachelor's degree in software engineering or related field
o Previous practical experience bridging requirements into software design and implementation including active work in DOORs and architecture models through detailed design documentation and into code
o Strong experience with build automation tools such as Jenkins, GoCD, Travis CI or Circle CI
o Strong experience with deployment automation tools such as chef, puppet or ansible
o Experience with working in a fast pace, agile environment with the ability to work on cross-function Scrum team focused on quality and capability delivery
o Experience with Java/C/C++ development and/or front-end web development including JavaScript Frameworks (Angular JS or React), HTML, and CSS
o Familiarity with DevSecOps, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
o Familiarity with distributed version control software (Git, Mercurial)
o Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
o Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming), Scaled Agile Framework - SAFe for Lean Enterprises
o Experience in software systems development (have worked requirements in DOORs and translated those into detailed design documents and software code)
o Full lifecycle software development experience
o Practical experience with deployment automation tools such as chef, puppet or ansible
o Experience with working in a fast pace, agile environment with the ability to work on cross-function Scrum team focused on quality and capability delivery
o Experience with Java/C/C++ development and/or front-end web development including JavaScript Frameworks (Angular JS or React), HTML, and CSS
o Familiarity with DevSecOps, continuous integration, and continuous delivery

PREFERRED:
o Direct experience with build automation tools such as Jenkins, GoCD, Travis CI or Circle CI

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree.
School must be accredited.

HOURS:
9/80 work week.
