Description



Chipton-Ross is seeking an Engineer Systems 2 for a contract opportunity in Roy, UT.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Principal Systems Engineer
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
o Performing customer requirements elicitation leading to Requirements Development
o Coordination & collaboration with the System Engineering and Command & Launch Segment System Engineering Teams
o Supporting system, segment, element and unit level trade studies
o Definition of high-level functional and performance requirements and verification methods, subsequent analysis, decomposition, and derivation of requirements, allocation of those lower-level requirements to physical and functional architectural elements, and tracking them through design, verification, integration, and operational validation
o Supporting a team of engineers to create, mature and present comprehensive and cohesive technical charts representative of the appropriate level of maturation for any given milestone meeting and demonstrating team readiness in relation to achieving the milestone entrance and exit criteria
o Identifying required contractual deliverables and non-contractual documentation and driving corresponding updates to closure
o Coordinating and collaborating with diverse engineering design teams to assist in managing the technical baseline

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
o Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline from an ABET accredited university
o 3 to 5 years of experience performing in a Systems Engineering or related technical discipline
o Understanding of systems engineering principles and processes
o Demonstrated communication skills and flexibility
o Proficiency in MS Office

PREFERRED:
o Effectively communicate and present to project and program management, other technical managers and customers
o Direct experience using the DOORS Requirements Management Database
o Familiarity with Model- Driven Systems Engineering languages (SysML /UML) and concepts and CORE knowledge a plus
o Excellent technical writing skills, and team building skills
o Subcontractor technical oversight experience

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree is required.
School must be accredited.


HOURS:
9/80 workweek.

MISCELLANEOUS:

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
