Description



Chipton-Ross is seeking ten Engineer Software 2 for a contract opportunity based in one of the following locations: Morrisville, NC, Fairfax, VA, Linthicum, MD or Manhattan Beach, CA.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
The software engineer designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Principal Software Engineer: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other STEM related degree with 5 + years of embedded software development experience; 3 years with a Master's; 0 years with a PhD; or 14 years of software development experience in lieu of a degree
Sr. Principal Software Engineer: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other STEM related degree with 9 + years of embedded software development experience; 7 years with a Master's; 4 years with a PhD; or 14 years of software development experience in lieu of a degree
Candidate must be able to obtain a Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI-Poly)
Experience Java/C++ programmer
Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes

PREFERRED:
Experience with Agile development
Knowledge of DevOPs
Experience with the CI/CD pipeline
Experience with the Jira tools
Current Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI-Poly) completed within the last 5 years

EDUCATION:
High school diploma is required.
School must be accredited.

HOURS:
9/80 workweek.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Applicants responding to this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements by currently possessing the ability to view classified government information.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
