Chipton-Ross is seeking 2 Tool Designer's 3 for a contract opportunity in Hazelwood, MO.

Investigates and develops basic to moderately complex equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aerospace product design and build requirements. Participates in design reviews, collects design requirements, creates and revises drawings and models to support the build plan. Creates specifications, purchase requests and usage instructions for equipment and tooling. Self-checks designs for compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements. Develops and documents equipment and tooling inspection and usage instructions, preventative maintenance plans, and supports user training development. Provides technical support for engineering changes and discrepancies by investigating problems and analyzing data to identify solutions. Maintains hardware and software configuration. Supports the disposition of equipment and tooling.

o Supports the evaluation of program and project requirements, develops complex equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions for the Production System
o Compiles and analyzes technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design and rate estimates for equipment and tooling
o Ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements
o Develops tooling usage instructions and conducts training for Production and manufacturing personnel
o Consults with engineering and operations counterparts to ensure tool design maximizes part producibility
o Validates contractual performance milestones, maintains configuration control, conducts reviews, prepares plans for productions readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares
o Develops and implements moderately complex work-arounds and maintains configuration of hardware, software and documentation
o Supports studies for disposition of assets

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
o 5+ years' experience in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Tool Engineering
o 5+ years' experience with NX and/or CATIA 3D systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

o Strong execution, communication and collaboration skills
o 5+ years' experience working in a manufacturing environment
o Experience designing and fabricating assembly and test fixture solutions
o Experience in composites fabrication
o Experience developing conceptual designs for tooling fixtures

Accredited Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).

Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

7 am - 4 pm
