Chipton Ross is seeking a Trim Engineering Technician for a contract opportunity in Plymouth, MI.

Job Description
Will be assisting in the ''cut & sew'' function in the business.
Candidates should have the ability to hand cut small components such as J-retainers, hook and loop, plastic parts, etc.
Should have basic computer skills with the ability to learn and be trained on how to run CNC material cutter.
Assist in clerical duties such as PLM updates and trim cover bill of material updates.
Must have the ability to lift and move seating components and material rolls.
Experience in the field of trim cover design and/or manufacturing is desired but not required.
Upholstery work and/or work in the tent and awning field desired
The desire to learn sewing and upholstery pattern making is a must Looking for someone studying for a degree in fashion, or engineering or has a degree.

HM ideally seeking folks with some college.
CNC is not required. Can be learned on the job

Required Skills
• Basic understanding of computers, willingness to learn the process. The ability to lift seats and fabrics. Hand-cut certain fabrics and build/disassemble automotive seats.
• Nice to have: Experience in the automotive industry, manufacturing/assembly experience, sewing experience.

Required Education
HS diploma required.

Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm
Opportunities for OT but not required

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
