Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking a Cable and Harness Technician 1 for a contract opportunity in Bethpage, NY.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manufacture cable / harness products. Reads and interprets Work Instructions, schematics, wire lists, and drawings. Ensures quality of the hardware is maintained and company procedures are followed. Ensures work is done with completeness, accuracy, adherence to Shop practice, procedures and schedules. Provides regular communication to team members.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
o Minimum of a High School diploma
o 2 years of related experience Cable harness fabrication and assembly experience, preferably with Militarized style components.
o Knowledge of tools and equipment to perform required functions.
o Knowledge of ESD product handling, standard safety procedures and PPE requirements.
o Ability to read, interpret, understand Drawings, Work Instructions, schematics, engineering directives.
o Basic math skills.
o Basic use of general hand tools as well as crimp tools.
o Eager desire to learn on the job.
o Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills.
o Must be able to organize to meet deadlines.
o Reliable transportation, professional attitude.
o Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and communication skills.

PREFERRED:
o Previous training or knowledge of Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies (IPC A-620)
o Previous training or knowledge of Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies (IPC J-STD-001)
" Previous training or knowledge of Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies (IPC-A-610)
o Experience working with program requirements, equipment performance specs, wire connection lists, schematics, wire gauge sizing, connector selection and related cabling and harnessing documentation.
o Ability to collaborate with Team/Engineering regarding technical issues and design resolutions.
o Must be computer literate
o Strong problem-solving skills.
o Ability to work as a team member.
o Ability to read, solve basic math and complete measurements
o Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 25 lbs.

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma/GED is required.
School must be accredited.

HOURS:
9/80 workweek. 100% On-Site.


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
