Description
Chipton Ross is seeking a NC Programmer for an contract position in Red Oak, TX.

Position Overview
NC Programming Contract position responsible for analysis of engineering drawings to define configuration of parts to determine type and sequence of machine operations. Develops programs for machining parts and tools on numerically controlled machine tools. Makes proper cutter selections for each part, taking into consideration such factors as speeds, types of cutters, feeds, and control system limitations. Selects program routines for the most efficient computer calculation of dimensional and machining requirements for each part. Tests and modifies existing parts programs for engineering changes or program improvements.

Specific Responsibilities
NC Programming responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to) the following activities:
Program rapid ply cutter (PRC) equipment to cut composite material in preparation of bonding operations.
Program laser projection equipment to define manufacturing build sequence and location of composite ply components in a composites manufacturing environment.
Program 3-axis and 5-axis automatic tape laying equipment as well as trim and drill machine cells.

Principal Accountabilities
Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers.
Working under general direction from Senior Engineers in a team environment, support manufacturing assembly production of metal components and assemblies ensuring parts, assemblies, and tools meet industry standards and customer requirements.

Education
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in a relevant field (such as mechanical, manufacturing or aerospace engineering with at least 4 years of experience in aerospace assembly fields or will have 8 years of experience coupled with an AS degree or similar. Candidates without a college degree with specific experience in Aerospace assembly planning will also be considered. Candidate should have experience with machining of composites parts.

Experience and Qualifications
The candidate will be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
The individual must be a dedicated and motivated and possess good communication skills with strong process management capabilities and problem-solving skills.
Experience in planning and manufacturing execution systems within aerospace fields is beneficial.
Experience in CAD based systems, especially Catia V5 is required.
Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and/or Process Improvement experience is strongly preferred.
Requires a thorough knowledge of multiple engineering applications and manufacturing procedures.
Has knowledge of relevant technology and can operate unassisted on routine tasks.
Must possess effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Work Schedule
4/10 Schedule, 1st Shift.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
