Description
Chipton Ross is seeking a Validation Engineer for a contract opportunity in Plymouth, MI.

Specific Duties:
Manage validation planning and execution including test plans, samples, fixtures, schedules, witness tests, sign-offs, sample reviews, and reporting
Provide leadership focus on project timing, cost and quality objectives
Develop, optimize, and manage test plans in accordance with customer, federal, and/or Adient specific requirements
Recommend appropriate test sample sizes (n) in accordance to test requirements
Serve as technical resource for customer, federal, and/or Adient test specifications and methods
Review and approve physical test set-ups
Review data and reporting of all tests (including final disposition of results)
Manage a test schedule using validation database, and/or customer specific format
Serve as key contact person between product development team and test labs
Adhere to existing validation processes such as Issue Tracking and reporting, ED/DV/PV, DVP Structure, Spec Updating Process, etc.
Quote entire test plans, establish test budgets, garner budget approval and track performance
Lead Setup/Global template activities to determine specific test setup information and understanding of FEA predicted performance
Support product development team on pre/post-test sample reviews as required
Support product development team with assessment, recommendations, and/or analysis of results to resolve product non-conformances
Support internal and/or external customer meetings and reviews as required
Maintain and communicate program status with customer
Ensure that good positive relations are maintained in all situations and environments with employees, suppliers, and customers

General Duties:
Maintains safe, secure, and clean work place by following 5S standards
Use validation database for test data and information. Support test report process by uploading files, loading test data and information, provide test summary and observations
Attend department meetings as required
Support test method development and/or continuous improvement projects as required

Required Experience:
3-8 years in seating and/or validation engineering. Complete Seat validation experience is preferred.
Knowledge of automotive test methods and automotive test specifications
Post-test data interpretation and /or analysis experience
Experience with statistical practice and /or tools
Test lab experience (equipment, methods, instruments) is a plus

A team player with strong planning and prioritizing skills organizational skills, including planning and prioritizing tasks
Strong communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Collaboration and teamwork oriented
Exceptional attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines and work under pressure
Flexibility to be able to travel and deal with multiple labs

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

Schedule:
First shift, full time

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
