Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking an Electrical Engineer III for a contract opportunity in De Leon Springs, FL.

This position is 100% onsite.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, model, simulate and test complex electronic circuits, subsystems and systems. Support designs with analysis simulations and calculations including spice and Mathcad.
Conduct complex in-house tests, direct and guides or mentors other Engineers.
Apply Risk, failure and root cause analysis as required within the electronic engineering discipline. Provide support for product process and system issues; provide recommendation for enhancements and cost reductions; initiate ECN's; and formulate cost impacts.
Keep accurate and complete records of engineering activities.
May act as project lead including organizing, execution, and coordinating technical assignments. Evaluate materials and systems, identify equipment, or prepare work instructions for manufacturing. Provide training and/or direction to other engineers, technicians or manufacturing operators.
Evaluate system designs against technical standards and system drawings; able to flow system requirements to Subsystem specifications and drawings.
Provide EMI (Electromagnetic interference) guidance to internal/external customers and vendors.
Generate Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)/Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) control plans, test procedures and test reports; set up and conduct RF Emissions and Susceptibility testing against MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-461 and related technical standards using RF instruments such as signal generators, RF amplifiers, spectrum analyzers, antennas, probes and ESD guns.
Provide input to bid and proposal activities.
Provide communications and/or presentations to customers, suppliers or vendors. Travel and participation in product field tests.

A working knowledge of electromagnetic theory, radiated and conducted emissions, signal and power coupling effects, susceptibility of systems, Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3), Lightning effects, EMP and HEMP.
A strong focus on designing for, and testing to MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464 and RTCA/DO-160 specifications. Knowledge of Commercial (FCC, CE-Mark, RTCA DO-160) and Military (UK DEF STAN 59-41) specifications and related qualification testing is beneficial but not required.
Experience with assembling and troubleshooting EMI/EMC test setups.
Experience with EMI/EMC design techniques for wide-band, high-isolation performance, signal containment, source suppression and RF grounding. Applicable for PCBs, sub-assemblies and system-level hardware for hand-held, aircraft, ground, and shipboard systems and platforms.
Experience with EMC simulation software tools is desired. (i.e. SPICE, Ansys HFSS or other EM simulators, Keysight ADS and IBIS model development based tool sets
Minimum 5 years of related work experience to include establishing / reviewing / verifying requirements using MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-461 and related E3 technical standards
Experience performing electronic analyses for related systems (i.e. sensors, radar, communications, etc.) operating in the maritime environments
Experience with EMI/EMC design techniques for wide-band, high-isolation performance, signal containment, source suppression and RF grounding. Applicable for PCBs, sub-assemblies and system-level hardware for hand-held, aircraft, ground, and shipboard systems and platforms

Knowledge/skills must include strong education, theoretical background and experience with applied hands -on implementation expertise in electronic design, simulation, modeling, analysis, and test.
Hands-on experience with development, building and testing of electronic assemblies and systems.
Ability to draw solutions from both formal training and experience and use original thinking and ingenuity to solve problems.
Experience in generating Electrical design documentation, and technical reports.
Ability to write proposals, cost and schedule estimates (including budgets), and participate in presentations.
Proficiency in using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Must show high initiative, be self-motivated, and have ability to act independently on technical matters

EDUCATION:
Accredited BSEE or other related degree; MSEE preferred.

Full-Time


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
