Chipton-Ross is seeking one Engineer Structural 3 for a contract opportunity in Palmdale, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Looking for an Engineer who analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs. Analyzes damage tolerance, durability of metal and composite airframe structures. Tools utilized may include NX CAD, Femap, Nastran and a variety of software applications. Primary function is MRB Stress Analysis supporting a high paced production environment.

Essential Functions:
o Provides stress MRB dispositions for primary and secondary structure.
o Review of completed analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
o Coordination and clear communication with other disciplines during the development of design solutions.
o Concise presentation and explanation of structural issues/solutions to internal management and customer representatives.
o Maintains and improves part designs, equipment, and systems in support of production deliveries
o Develop solutions to difficult problems that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives.
o Evaluation of as built products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications.
o Experience in Structural Analysis Methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis, as well as the development and manipulation of large Finite Element Models.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
o BS degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil) and a minimum of 14 years of experience in Aerospace structural analysis or MS degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil) with 12 years of experience or PHD degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil) with 9 years of experience.
o Experience in Bonded Composite Structural Analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures.
o Experience in Metallic Structural Analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures
o Experience in Structural Analysis Methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis, as well as the development and manipulation of large Finite Element Models.

PREFERRED:
o Experience working on Special Access Programs
o Experience working on military aircraft
o Experience as a Lead Engineer managing a small group of analysts
o 10 years or more Aerospace structural analysis experience using NASTRAN, PATRAN, or FEMAP.
o Experience with analysis of composite structure and repair methods
o Experience with analysis of metallic structure and repair methods

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree is required.
School must be accredited.

HOURS:
4/10 workweek. 2nd shift (Tue through Fri)

MISCELLANEOUS:
Applicants responding to this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements by currently possessing the ability to view classified government information.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
