Chipton-Ross is seeking an IT Software Engineer 4 for a contract/hybrid opportunity in Newport News, VA.
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs IT applications software and systems. Collaborates with IT systems designers and/or engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes IT system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures IT software standards are met.
Complete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines.
Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.
Discretion / Latitude
Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects. Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources.
Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
Bachelor of Science Degree Minimum Years of Experience 5 years
Master's degree and 3 years of relevant experience. PhD and 0 years of experience.
Industrial Engineering Experience
o Ensures IT software standards are met.
o Experience with KepWareEX IT/OT server environment and tool set.
o Experience interfacing machine-level PLC's and Sensors into an IIoT network.
o Design and build machine connectivity up to the KepServer, as necessary
o Enabling machine-to-network (multiple types) connectivity capabilities for data feeds
o Support manufacturing and facility connectivity and data analysis efforts
Required PPE Ear Muffs, Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Steel Toe Boots
Bachelors in Science or Masters is required.
School must be accredited.
Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
5/40 work week.
HYBRID 50%... level of work will dictate time inside shipyard. Must be able to travel to shipyard daily.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
