Chipton-Ross is seeking a Test Engineer for a contract opportunity in Lexington, KY

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Uses technical expertise in the field of non-destructive testing (NDT) with industry certifications in one or more industry recognized methods, e.g. liquid penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, eddy current testing, ultrasonic testing, radiography testing, and visual testing. Provides technical support to manufacturing, engineering, programs, field personnel, and suppliers. Designs, develops, and implements NDT methods. Performs calibration and alignment checks; adjustments, modifications, and replacements. Performs evaluations including failure analysis, methods analysis, and inspection. Prepares, revises, and reviews NDT material/process specifications and NDT technique sheets including evaluation of supplier techniques/procedures. Designs and evaluates inspection reference standards. Audits NDT inspection facilities. Provides recommendations on specifications, capabilities, limitations, and benefits of NDT methods. Validates non-destructive callouts on engineering drawings. Develops course material and trains NDT inspectors in accordance with industry standards and company requirements. Prior certification (or the ability to certify) to ASNT, NAS 410, or equivalent in at least one of the industry recognized NDT methods
Responsibilities:
-Under minimal supervision, an NDT Level 2 shall have the skills and knowledge to set up and calibrate equipment, to conduct tests, and to interpret, evaluate, and document results in accordance with procedures approved by the responsible Level 3 with respect to applicable codes, specifications, and standards
-Have the skills and knowledge to set up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results
-Have the skills and knowledge to conduct systems performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard
-Capable of providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees and level 1 personnel
-Be familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the methods as used by client.
-Perform all other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
-Must be willing to work variable hours
-Must be willing to travel domestically on occasion.
Basic Qualifications:
-Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
-Must be able to read drawings and schematics provided by the customer
-Experience with MS Office products
-20/20 vision (corrected)
Desired Skills:
-Experience using Digital Radiography (DR) and Computed Tomography (CT) equipment
-Experience with Penetrant Testing (PT), Eddy Current Testing (ET) and Ultrasound Testing UT methods is a plus
-Greater than three active NAS-410 NDT Level 2 certifications are a plus
-SAP Experience
-Familiarity with military Nondestructive Inspection (NDI) manuals and processes is a plus

EDUCATION:
-Bachelor’s degree or above in a technical discipline is a plus
-Currently holds NAS-410 Level 2 certifications in Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Radiographic Testing (RT).
AND - Have at least 6 years of experience as a NAS-410 certified inspector at any level in the Aerospace industry with at least 3 of the 6 years as a Level 2.
OR Have a technical degree and 3 or more NAS-410 Level 2 certifications, three of which must be Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Radiographic Testing (RT), and Penetrant Testing (PT), with special consideration for additional NAS-410 Level 2 certifications.
