Description
Chipton Ross is seeking a Tool Maker for contract assignment in Milledgeville, GA

Responsible for operating the laser tracker equipment to meet quality standards and customers specifications.
Responsibilities:
" Maintain required inspection documentation, generate, and maintain reports and provide accurate evidence of the results
" Compile and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain the quality of products
" Interpret blueprints
" Measure and inspect tooling and components to ensure customer specifications are met
" Collect geometric data via laser tracker through model-based software
" Discern how best to establish a reference system for the current task then apply it and install it both on and off the part
" Provide analysis of collected data and evaluate it to provide direction for remaining operations
" Integrate process monitoring with the fabrication process to locate both welding details and machining details
" Understand and apply the fabrication process and environmental effects on large structures such as free states, temperature swings, and weld shrinkage
" Work from tool drawings, numerical control data, quality procedures and instructions.
" In-process inspection and final inspection of parts, sub-assemblies during manufacturing per customer requirements.
" Locate details on tooling sub-assemblies and assist with assembly.
" Measurement analysis, Cad interfacing, Reverse engineering. Utilize laser tracker to align components to machine coordinates and tolerances as well as for reverse engineering
" Inspect details to complete tools utilizing hand tools, surface plate or laser tracker to print and/or model.
" Initiate applicable non-conformance documents as required.
" Maintain the PTI system
" Determine approval to ship after verifying all data is within requirements
" Perform inspection of tools according to schedule

Job Knowledge and Educational Requirements:
" Job knowledge requires vocational or similar training, including basic shop math to aid in the interpretation and the utilization of data from engineering drawings, manufacturing specifications and procedures.
" Knowledge of shop routines and practices is preferred.
" Basic knowledge of personal computers, including operating systems and file management is required.
" High school diploma or an accredited GED.

" Limited related experience

General Physical Requirements:
" Lifting, climbing, grasping holding, standing, bending and stooping

1st Shift, 5/40 Schedule


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
