Description
Chipton Ross is seeking a Aircraft Painter for 6+ month assignment in Milledgeville, GA

Function
Perform all types of production painting, including painting requiring the application of special techniques and finishes. Locate and apply insignia and decoration markings as directed. Assist in the operations of the shipping area and/or the handling of items prepared for shipment from the Paint Department as required.

Duties:
" Work from blueprints, manufacturing specifications and procedures, work orders, sketches and oral instructions.
" Perform a wide variety of painting efforts requiring special techniques and finishes.
" Prepare parts for paint performing various operations such as washing, stripping and masking to assure proper adherence and application of primers, anti-corrosives and similar protection coatings as required.
" Remove scratches, corrosion or stains, or any other defects from product by such methods as polishing, buffing or burnishing.
" Protect finished items using appropriate materials in accordance with transportation codes and customer requirements.
" Match and blend different paint and colors; perform paint rework and touch-up.
" Perform good housekeeping chores in area.
" Know and utilize current cost tracking system.
" Read and interpret withholding tags, standard specifications and repair manuals.
" Maintain required documentation and records on paint mixing and paint application.
" Use precision measuring instruments performing assigned quality tasks.

Job Knowledge & Educational Requirements:
" Job knowledge requires vocational or similar training, including basic shop math to aid in the interpretation and the utilization of data from engineering drawings, manufacturing specifications and procedures.
" Knowledge of shop routines and practices is preferred.
" Basic knowledge of personal computers, including operating systems and file management is required.
" High school diploma or an accredited GED.

Experience:
" Minimum of five (5) years' experience in the brushing and spray painting of prime finish coats and paints and extensive masking of aircraft parts and/or wrap and pack operations in the Paint Shop Department.

General Physical Requirements:
" Lifting, climbing, grasping, holding, standing, bending and stooping are generally required to perform the functions of this position.

Work Schedule
1st Shift, 5/40 Schedule


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
