Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Technician for a contract opportunity in Gainesville, TX.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Summary: Provides technical support to engineers in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, process improvement, or product development.
Duties: Performs Analysis and tests. Develops and recommends procedures and methods and prepares manufacturing process sheets, technical documents and reports. Performs technical evaluations of events to determine root causes; recommends corrective action. Uses schematics, diagrams, technical drawings, specifications, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems.
A)Collects and prepares data used to support engineering reports and analysis.
B)Assembles, operates, and maintains laboratory testing, measuring, and mechanical equipment
C)Works as part of a team.
D)Adjusts and repairs testing, electrical, and mechanical equipment and devices.
E)Inspects test equipment for wear and defective parts, using standard inspection practices.
F)Prepares notes, sketches, and observations associated with test setup and data collection.
G)Attends training seminars related to specific types of test equipment.
H)Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge and Skills:
i)Must have general knowledge of electrical theory and background in use of laboratory test and measurement instruments.
ii)Must be self-motivated and able to perform at a high level of intensity without constant direction.
iii)Must be able to adjust to company priorities and changes.
iv)Must be proficient in all shop math including trigonometry.
v)Must also have good working skills with Microsoft Office and data acquisition software.
Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment. Ability to read and review written communication. Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English. Ability to solve problems and think strategically.
This position requires extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment. Finger dexterity needed in using misc. office equipment such as telephone, computer and copy machine, etc. Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to approximately twenty pounds are required during tasks related to the job.

EDUCATION:
Accredited High School Diploma or GED
Training in vocational schools, related on-the-job experience is preferred.

SHIFT:
5/40

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
