Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Senior Pre/Post Sales Engineer for a hybrid contract opportunity in Santa Monica, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
REQUIREMENTS:
Network Stack: layer 2 and 3 networking devices such as Brocade, Juniper, and Cisco
Large Unstructured Storage Systems: Dell Isilon, Netapp, OpenDrives, and HP
Virtualization and Containerization Systems: Vmware, Kubernetes, Nutanix, and KVM
Security Tools and Processes: 2FA, Firewalls, EDR, and XDR
Server Hardware: PCI lanes, CPU specs, Memory Channels and how they impact overall performance
Basic Electrical and Thermal concepts: how Watts and BTU's impact room design; load capabilities for UPS and AC units
Cabling Management and Configuration: how to best run copper and fiber cables in relation to electrical connections
Hands-on Experience: installation and configuration with switches, firewalls, servers, and storage


General Requirements:
Good Bedside Manner: able to present an approachable and friendly demeanor, especially in challenging situations
Works Well Under Pressure: able to keep a level head and manage customer expectations when problems occur
Effective Time Management: able to correctly prioritize duties to keep up with shifting deadlines; efficient in completing tasks both individually and as a team member
Flexible Schedule: willing to work a modified schedule with sufficient notice to meet project demands
3+ Years of Relevant Experience in IT Pre or Post sales
Available to Work Onsite: able to transition between remote, on-site, and in-office work as needed


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of media workflows a big plus
Has been involved with planning, implementation, support, and evaluation of complex systems
Has made recommendations to maintain infrastructure requirements and meet expected service levels
Able to provide technical assistance and implementation strategies in future planning, engineering, and architecture on top of existing systems
Has interfaced with customers and vendors to determine requirements and resolve issues
Able to provide and interpret regular metrics for system availability and usage, as well as other data points as requested
Familiar with diagramming tools to map and maintain rack elevations and network diagrams (e.g. Microsoft Visio)
Able to perform various equipment, OS, and firmware upgrades
Experienced in generating and keeping up-to-date documentation of procedures, diagrams, layouts, and related materials
oHas handled user issues and questions, and change tickets
oHas worked with other departments to resolve interdepartmental issues, and provided root cause analysis
oNetwork, Storage, Virtualization, Cloud, and/or Microsoft certifications

EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's Degree

Full-Time



Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
