Chipton Ross is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity in Detroit, MI.
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager and/or Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance functions.
Responsibilities:
o Performs maintenance work on plant equipment as assigned.
o Assists maintenance with installing equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations
o Possess other general maintenance skills.
o Maintain work areas to housekeeping standards
o Performs other assignments as required by Maintenance Supervision.
o Participates in the Health, Safety and Environmental program by following all policies, procedures and work instructions that may include safety rules, safety audits, regulatory compliance, environmental awareness and audits, and continuous improvement.
o All employees are expected to follow safe work practices, obey rules and regulations and work in a way which maintains the high safety and health standards developed and sanctioned by the Company. Requirements:
Possess a working knowledge and ability to proficiently demonstrate that knowledge and skill in the following areas:
o Minimum maintenance work experience 3 years post apprenticeship.
o PLC Programming and troubleshooting experience.
o Experience with progressive and transfer stamping presses and coil feed equipment.
o Hydraulic system function, maintenance and troubleshooting to include valves, accumulators, cylinders and pressure switches.
o Pneumatic system function, maintenance and troubleshooting, to include valves, accumulators, cylinders and pressure switches.
o Experienced with electrical maintenance including low voltage control wiring, 3 phase wiring and troubleshooting 480v, AC & DC motors and Drives. Capable of installing professional looking conduit runs to code.
o Experience with industrial air compressors, chillers and HVAC a plus.
o Industrial lighting systems a plus.
o Experience with plant 480v power distribution systems including busway, disconnects, Bus plugs, and power transformers.
o Hydraulic system function, maintenance and troubleshooting to include valves, accumulators, cylinders and pressure switches.
o Pneumatic system function, maintenance and troubleshooting, to include valves, accumulators, cylinders and pressure switches.
o Experience with mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
Job Skill Requirements:
o OSHA training in power press safety.
o Obtain a forklift and scissor lift license.
o Equipment meets safety standards.
o Performs other assignments as required by Maintenance Supervision.
o Must maintain accurate maintenance records.
Required Education :
High school education; related experience, apprenticeship or technical training, education or some combination of all three considered a plus.
o Minimum maintenance work experience 3 years post apprenticeship.
Education:
High School Diploma Required.
Schedule:
Mon-Fri
Day shift
6am -2:30pm, + as needed (must be available to start shift early)
Night shift - 4pm - 1am
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
