Chipton-Ross is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer for a contract opportunity in Marinette, WI.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, engines, machines and mechanical systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.
Develop, modify, and apply control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished products. Collaborates with quality, engineering, planning and manufacturing organization's to ensure quality standards are in place. Develop, and implement/or improve current methods and procedures for producing and inspecting precision and accuracy of products and production equipment Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, product evaluation and reliability, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies. Acceptable candidate will work with established team to witness inspections, conduct observations and surveillances and provide necessary oversight to LM sub-contractors to ensure they are operating in accordance with approved procedures and contractual requirements. The candidate will be required to go through and "on the job" training process by LMQA team members.

REQUIREMENTS:
Quality inspection experience.
Ability to work in a construction environment.
Physical ability to move around the ship, climb stairs and enter into smaller spaces through access points that are 15"x23".
Physical Verification Experience
Audit Experience
Knowledge of Safety Practices & Procedures
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Ability to follow direction in order to complete assigned tasks.
Willingness to learn.

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:
Basic knowledge of HM&E (hull, mechanical and electrical) systems.
Prior shipbuilding experience.
Basic understanding of engineering drawings.
Prior NDT certifications (VT, PT, MT, RT).
Prior coatings/preservation certifications (NBPI, NACE).

EDUCATION:
Accredited High School Diploma or GED.

DESIRED EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's Degree.

SHIFT:
5/40-1st Shift
Work Schedule/Shift Times-Flex 40 hour a week 5 days, between 6 & 7am

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
