Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Microelectronic Technician 2's for a contract opportunity in Manhattan Beach, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs a variety of duties to support the research and development of new microelectronic, opto-electronic, micro-electromechanical and sensor manufacturing processes, devices, components, or systems, semiconductors, semiconductor-based integrated analog or digital circuits, micro-electromechanical systems, sensors systems, and related technologies. Develops and applies inspection and test procedures for micro-components and micro-systems.
The microelectronic technician performs the following assembly tasks in a collaborative team environment:
Wire or ribbon bonding/welding including setup and manual operation of thermocompression and thermosonic wedge bonding, ball bonding, and welding equipment in order to build, rework, or repair hardware.
Screening of assemblies including destructive and non-destructive bond pull testing, visual inspection using microscopes, examination against drawings and process specifications.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
A High School diploma is required with 2+ years of lab experience
1-3 years of experience of Manual dexterity, must be able to use hand tools (work with tweezers, blades, scribes and probes)
Computer & communication skills (Microsoft Office)

Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to interpret drawing and work instruction within Solumina and Enovia
Familiarity with bond/welding machines such as West Bond, Miyachi Unitek, TPT, K&S
1-3 years of experience wire/ribbon bonding or welding onto components such as substrates and chips
Experience in a ESD and FOD controlled lab environment
Familiarity with a shop order or manufacturing execution systems (MES)
Experience as a lead or trainer
Demonstrated implementation of process improvement


EDUCATION:
High School Diploma/GED is required.
School must be accredited.

HOURS:
9/80 workweek with every other Friday off
2nd shift position, 2:30pm to 10:30pm

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
