Chipton-Ross is seeking a Network Engineer for a remote contract opportunity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designs, plans and/or operates company's network equipment, servers operating systems. Plans, evaluates, and coordinates installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication networks. Performs a variety of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing activities. Responds to internal customer network issues using company incident management system. Provides specifications, detailed schematics, and documentation for network architecture. Plans and anticipates future capacity requirements. Develops and implements solutions for network problems. May coordinate third-party maintenance of network equipment during off-hours.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques
Clear communication & Teamwork skills (Listening, Verbal, Written)
Contributes to completion of milestones associated with specific projects
Expert troubleshooting skills, adept with root cause analysis
Experienced, in-depth, abilities configuring Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Domain, VPN
Network monitoring and reporting tools to conduct traffic analysis and diagnose issues Network maintenance, updating and or upgrading network equipment and systems
Routing, LAN/WAN/VLAN, SDWAN, Internet, POE, VOIP, Port provisioning, Trunks, QoS and VPNs o Experience managing wireless systems 802.11
Equipment research, cost estimating, vendor & service provider communication skills
Microsoft Domain knowledge to troubleshoot & administer DNS/DHCP & other systems Configure and Support Network Authentication Services, TACACS+, Radius, LDAP
Proficient at communicating network downtime and completing network maintenance
Infrequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts on routine matters Identifies and understands issues, problems, and opportunities; compares data from different sources to draw conclusions; uses effective approaches for choosing a course of action or develops appropriate solutions; takes action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences
Ability to manage conflicting priorities and make independent decisions
Able to read, understand and produce network diagrams through documentation skills
Periodically perform on-call responses, after hours maintenance, and communicate alerts off-hours impacting business
EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's Degree
WORK HOURS:
Full-Time
RMTEmployment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
