Chipton-Ross is seeking one Tool Engineer 2 for a contract opportunity in El Segundo, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engineer would be conducting technical peer reviews, analyzing tooling structures including loads and dynamics, stress, stability and fatigue. Expected to be attending design reviews to provide feedback to peers from initial review of models and further findings from studies. Will also be tasked with their own design development in between stress projects.
In this role you will design industrial tools, dies, gauges, drill & assembly jigs, fixtures, machine attachments and equipment, required for production or experimental use, considering such factors as accessibility, economy, mobility, and performance requirements. We are looking for engineers who have structural analysis background to assist in generating the structural engineering analysis package for product design, or operation of product to demonstrate compliance of tooling fixtures. While being the principle contributor and/or leader of a task, you shall work with internal/external customers, and colleagues to ensure that the design meets the customer needs.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
STEM degree (Science, Technical, Engineering or Mathematical) and 3-5 years' experience.
- Experience with stress analysis techniques, concepts and practices
- Experienced in structural analysis methods including NASTRAN models of metallic and composite structures, as well as hand analysis.
- Experience with industry standard design tools including NX CAD, CATIA
- Experience with drawing release criteria and related documents for soundness, efficiency, and simplicity in design; completeness, clarity, and dimensional accuracy; correctness of materials and processes; conformity to design/drafting standards (e.g. GD&T), design specifications, and practicability; and economy of fabrication, assembly, and installation.
PREFERRED:
- Experience with static & dynamic analysis and tolerance analysis.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system
- Professional Engineering License
EDUCATION:
STEM degree (Science, Technical, Engineering or Mathematical) is required.
School must be accredited.
HOURS:
9/80 work week. 5 am - 3 pm (Can be 6 am - 4pm).
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
