RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client s seeking a Project Engineer to join the Precision Engagement Systems (PES) team.
As a part of the Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SIWS) organization, Precision Engagement Systems (PES) is a dynamic and growing team with leadership that is focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions on Direct Attack (DA) and Cruise Missiles Systems (CMS) programs. Connected to our customers' missions, we deliver unique capability through our exceptional talent. The programs we support in Saint Charles, MO include Direct Attack weapons (JDAM, SDB, MOP, HAAWC and associated derivatives) and Cruise Missiles (SLAM ER, Harpoon and development weapons) utilized on various military aircraft, some ground-based platforms, and other future contract awards.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Saint Charles, MO. Saint Charles, MO is a thriving city located along the scenic Missouri River, just outside of bustling St. Louis. With its rich history, charming downtown area, and abundant outdoor recreational opportunities, Saint Charles offers a high quality of life for residents and visitors alike. Client is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join the Precision Engagement Systems (PES) team.
This position will work closely with the program managers, contracts, estimating, supply chain, engineering, and/or customers to execute the program. This role can encompass both Program Integrator positions, which support the product program manager, and International Projects Manager positions, which support the International Execution Program Manager. This is a growth role, with the expectation that broad skills and experience gained here would be applicable to a variety of other current and future contracts. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers.
Work with our internal and external customers to identify requirements and build plans to support their needs.
Track progress to cost, schedule, and technical performance using Client Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) and Earned Value Management (EVM).
Support the development of customer proposals, including development of competitive pricing and delivery dates.
Engage regularly with supply chain leadership to monitor supplier quality and performance.
Resolve technical issues through coordination with engineering and the Chief Engineer.
Manage deliverables by defining plans for risk mitigation, issues, and opportunities; and, monitoring baseline plans to assess project performance, productivity, and lessons learned.
Brief customers and leadership on program status; risks, issues, and opportunities; and help needed.
Standardize, develop, and document processes.
Additional Support: This job can encompass a variety of tasking including support for Correction Action Requests (CARs) received by the program; export authority support; and lean/process improvements
HARD REQUIREMENTS:
Successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment - OJT or formal classroom training.
(Level 4):
Bachelors, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
5+ years of experience in an engineering role.
5+ years leading or managing multi-disciplinary engineering projects teams.
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
Senior (Level 5):
Bachelors, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
10+ years of experience in an engineering role.
10+ years of experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering projects or leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Project Management Professional Certification.
Experience with proposal development and contracting negotiations.
Experience with Export Compliance or International programs.
Experience developing and tracking program plans/schedules and budgets for technical projects.
5+ years of project management experience in an engineering environment.
5+ years of experience in engineering project planning or project management.
5+ years of experience supporting weapons systems.
5+ years of experience working directly with government customers.
5+ years of experience collaborating across functions and organizations.
10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
EDUCATION:
(Level 4):
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior (Level 5):
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
WORK HOURS:
Full-Time
7 am - 4 pm
