Chipton-Ross is seeking three Manufacturing Technician 1's for a contract opportunity in Goleta, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Seeking a Manufacturing Technician specializing in harnessing, and related electrical assembly and test, with relevant aerospace industry experience working on small, medium and/or large government and commercial programs.
Primary Responsibilities:
o Must be self-motivated, organized and accountable for personal workload.
o Diligent in reviewing, interpreting, maintaining, and completing paperwork and electronic data associated with hardware assemblies to maintain data and material traceability.
o Manufacturing electrical harness assemblies, including ability to correctly interpret schematics and build compliant electrical assemblies as well as demonstrated knowledge of basic electrical tests such as continuity and insulation resistance.
o Following procedures but also able to work from drawings, schematics, and sketches, and collaborate with engineers to develop or prove new processes.
o Knowledge of Soldering, wire stripping, contact crimping, contact insertion and removal, harness routing and strain relief techniques is required.
o Knowledgeable with structural bonding and application of coatings using various epoxy and silicone adhesive products.
o Working level understanding of force, torque, and precision hand tools.
o Organizational ability to follow, or determine, optimum order of assembly for complex harnesses, mechanical structures, and devices.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent.
PREFERRED:
o J-STD-001 Soldering Certification
o NASA STD 8739.1 Certification
o NASA STD 8739.4 Certification
o Familiarity with solar cell technology and CIC wiring
o Proficient use of basic shop arithmetic
o Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
o Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence
o Ability to multitask, prioritize
o Experience or familiarity with ISO requirements, standards, and compliance issues
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma/GED is required.
School must be accredited.
HOURS:
9/80 workweek. 100% On-Site.
MISCELLANEOUS:
Applicants responding to this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements by currently possessing the ability to view classified government information.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
