Chipton-Ross is seeking a Machinist for a contract opportunity in Orlando, FL.

This position is 100% onsite.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Technician-level position as a machinist in the Mechanical Engineering Machine Shop operates a wide range of machine tools in the precision fabrication from aerospace-grade metals of prototype / development parts and assemblies, in support of internal customers for research and development projects and contracted programs. The manually or numerically controlled equipment used will require competency in lathe, mill, press, shear, band saw, and grinders operations. Requested tasks are verified and evaluated with the Manager and test requester and scheduled in an environment where there are often competing and conflicting needs to be resolved. Job status is reported and reviewed as required with the manager.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
1. Minimum 6 years technical fabrication experience in a prototype/development environment with experience in metal fabrication, mechanical assembly, and composites fabrication while working in a teaming environment.
2. Demonstrated competence in fabrication of basic steel and aluminum alloys using knee mill, band saw, manual lathe, basic hand-powered metal cutting.
3. Must be able to work a flex-schedule, overtime, evenings, weekends, etc., and the position will require candidate to work onsite, daily.
4. Capable of deconflicting scheduling conflicts with customers and possess the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects as needed.
5. Proficient in computing within a Windows-based MS Office-suite centered environment for communication, scheduling, data processing, and basic data transfer.
6. Demonstrated sound writing and verbal communication skills.


DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:
1. Knowledge of CNC machines and software, CATIA, Creo, Pro E, and G-code programing.
2. GD&T, Mil-Spec Standards
3. Advanced working knowledge with various metals, layout, cutting, bending, forming.
4. Working knowledge from concept design into product development.
5. Ability to communicate through development preform guidance of working projects and tasking individuals.
