Chipton-Ross is seeking two Software Engineer 1's for a contract opportunity in Colorado Springs, CO.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The selected Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing software updates that best meet changing customer needs on a Missile Defense System (MDS) Engineering Program.
Essential Functions:
o Interface with requirements and deriving design from requirements in a model-based systems engineering environment.
o Derive and allocate requirements into detailed design.
o Collaborates with Systems and Modeling & Simulation Engineers to ensure software requirements are met.
o Determines user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls.
o Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
o Designs, develops and tests front end displays utilizing React and Node JS.
o Designs, develops and tests a framework built in C++ and Python.
o Develops and references databases to analyze and validate system performance.
o Performs software peer reviews, version control, automated tests, software analysis, continuous integration, and continuous delivery in accordance with DevSecOps processes and best practices.
o Performs code quality management and corrects defects.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Science and 2 years of experience, or Master's Science and 0 years of experience.
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
o Experience developing software in object-oriented programming languages such as C, C++, or Java.
o Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs.
o Experience bridging requirements into software design and implementation preferably utilizing architecture models through detailed design documentation and into code.
o Experience utilizing Atlassian toolkit (Bitbucket, Confluence, Jira)
o Experience with working in a fast pace, agile environment with the ability to work on cross-function Scrum team focused on quality and capability delivery
o Experience with Java/C/C++ development and/or front-end web development including JavaScript Frameworks (Node JS or React), HTML, and CSS
o Experience with Python development
o Experience with MATLAB
o Familiarity with DevSecOps, continuous integration, and continuous delivery concepts
o Familiarity with utilizing Git as distributed version control software
o Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
o Familiarity with Agile methodologies and development
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's in Science is required.
School must be accredited.
HOURS:
9/80 workweek.
MISCELLANEOUS:

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
