Chipton-Ross is seeking a Software Engineer 2 for a contract opportunity in Nashua, NH.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this role, you will support development of Mission Planning Software for the US Air Force and will be embedded within an agile Development Scrum team managed by the Prime contractor. You will assists with the development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems for the Support Agile Aircraft Effort (SAAE). This project includes development of Mission Planning software for the DOD, specifically related to Airdrop, Unique Platform Component (UPC), and NOMS/JOMS.

o With general supervision, develops, documents, maintains and unit tests code by utilizing software development environments and programming languages (C#, .NET).
o Develops, documents and maintains software design by applying established methods and practices.
o Performs troubleshooting of defects. Collaborates with others to propose solutions to problems.
o Gathers and organize data for use in plans, schedules and estimates.
o Assist in the specification and maintenance of software requirements.
o Integrates and compile software components into builds. May test limited component level software in the target environment.
o Documents deployed processes and tools and collect metrics.
o Performs troubleshooting of operational and integration issues. May gather and document data on subject matter.
o Performs other duties as assigned.
o Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system.
o Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
o Size of the Team: scrum team of 5-7 people

HARD REQUIREMENTS:
o Experience with common development environments (TFS, JIRA), programming languages, C#, .NET, web frameworks and technologies (HTML5, CSS, React, etc.)
o Experience with object-oriented computer programming with direct experience using Visual Studio, C#/.NET, NodeJS, JavaScript/Typescript
o Experience with common web frameworks and technologies (HTML5, CSS, React, etc.)
o Ability to communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions clearly and effectively to teams and customers.
o Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions

EDUCATION:
Associate/Junior Level - Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Mid-Level - Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). WORK HOURS:
Full-Time/First Shift
This team works a 9/80 compressed schedule - 9hrs a day with every other Friday off.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Onsite preferred.
This position has been identified as a potential virtual opportunity based on candidate qualifications. The preference is for the hired candidate to live near Hudson, NH to allow for in person participation in PI Planning and other in-office activities which build team cohesion and enables quicker onboarding and learning.
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
Duration: Through 1/31/2024 with potential to extend through 2024
Contract to hire if Subcontract for Client is extended.
