- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Project Engineer for a contract opportunity in Huntsville, AL.
SUMMARY:
In this role, you will be a Project Engineer responsible for coordinating and creating lab plans/schedules and tracking to completion. You will assist in various lab events and provide status updates/briefings to leadership as required. You will also support procurement activity related to Early Integration Labs and manage MBOM activities. Lastly, you will track and manage maintenance activities required to keep products and the labs operational. You will be positioned to support the customer and identify issues and watch items that could jeopardize lab operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead development and baseline of key lab activities
Collaborate with government customer and Independent Product Teams (IPTs) to understand key hand-offs and schedule drivers
Openly communicate and collaborate across engineering and non-engineering functions
Utilize basic engineering skills and configuration management best practices
Produce a Digital Product for loading on IDDE per government provided tools
Track lab activities to closure and provide status updates and required briefings to leadership for awareness
Track, manage and oversee maintenance and software agreements for keeping products operational
Track, status and manage MBOM activity, assist in procurement efforts, and generate facility/service requests
Support relevant meetings, reviews, briefings and working groups
Work effectively in a rapid paced team environment
REQUIREMENTS:
Manage all aspects of projects from start to finish
Develop and manage projects according to client/customer requirements
Provide technical support for projects including planning, organization, and oversight
Conduct regular progress meetings with team members to identify and resolve issues
Brief completed work at iteration demonstrations to configuration boards and engineering integrated product teams
Provide technical support to junior engineers throughout the duration of a project
Provide input and support to management on Earned Value, Risk and Opportunities
DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:
Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program experience
Government Contract Experience
System of Systems Integration experience
Microsoft Project and Schedule software experience
Procurement Experience
Knowledge of Agile software development process
Good verbal and written communication skills, must be able to work independently and will possess the poise and flexibility required to work in a highly dynamic environment
EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry, (e.g. Bachelor and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience such as PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master + 7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
