Chipton-Ross is seeking a Systems Engineer 3 for a contract opportunity in Huntsville, AL.
*This position is 100% ONSITE.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions in support of the Missile Defense Agency Ground Based Mid-Course defense system. The position activities include the evaluation of customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform development and definition of high level functional and performance requirements and the associated verification methods.
Perform systems analysis, decomposition, and derivation of lower level requirements.
Develop and allocate lower-level requirements to physical and functional architectural elements, track them through design, verification, integration, and operational validation.
Supports requirement and verification working groups.
Perform development of interface requirements and the associated verification methods and criteria based on system interoperability and performance requirements.
Lead interface requirement and design documentation development based on system interoperability and performance requirements.
Support Interface Control Working Groups with the customer and components
Support development of requirement verification planning and supporting verification documentation.
Perform coordination of element level technical reviews
Perform risk and opportunity analysis and resolution.
Support resolution of cross-functional technical issues.

REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience leading and applying systems engineering processes and principles
Experience/domain knowledge of complex system architecture, requirements, interface definition, verification, and validation
Experience in systems integration and interface definition.
Development of interface requirements based on system interoperability and performance requirements
Development of interface verification and compliance criteria
Allocation of system functional decomposition to interface design
Translate interface requirements, performance requirements, and functions into interface design
Perform interface impact assessments based on new functionality or problem resolution
Interface management for development of new or the revision of baselined interfaces due to new capabilities or problem resolution
Interface problem analysis and resolution
DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with implementation and maintenance of systems engineering tools, schedules and metrics (i.e. Earned value management, DOORs, CAMEO)
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering
Experience with or on, the GMD program, working with the Missile Defense Agency
EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
