Chipton-Ross is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a contract opportunity in Fort Worth, TX
Maintaining, enhancing, and refactoring infrastructure operations code in Python to help automate tasks that ensure systems are properly up and running.
Supporting Hadoop clusters running on Cloudera by applying critical security patches, remediating vulnerabilities, and pro-actively planning to ensure clusters have sufficient storage.
Familiarity with Nifi, and the ability to partner with developers and architects to ensure its capabilities are properly managed and exploited.
Cloudera administration experience
Strong problem-solving skills and strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to document technical solutions in support of standards and best practices
Ability to work independently in closed program area
Experience supporting Big Data systems in a Linux environment
Experience with delivering automation capabilities
Knowledge of Continuous Integration/ Continuous Development practices
Exposure to Agile practices and tools
Expertise with Linux operating system fundamentals such as kernel parameters, navigating directories, and troubleshooting code
Accredited Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or equivalent experience/combined education
