Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Machinist for a contract opportunity in El Segundo, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operates all manner of manual and computer-controlled machine tools, such as Lathes, Milling machines, Drill Press and Grinders to fabricate precision metal, plastic, and composite parts.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Completion of an accredited apprentice program or equivalent. Such as NTMA (National Tool Machining Association) High school diploma or GED required.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings/CAD files. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw a valid conclusion. Uses precision gages and measuring instruments to meet part tolerances as described on drawings. Working understanding of GEO-metric dimensioning and tolerance. Ability to write basic programs using machine controller or computer aided software such as Master-Cam.
Must have 5 to 10 years of experience.

PREFERRED:
Skills with Sodick wire machines and Haas vertical mills with 4th and 5th Axis would be desirable.

EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED required.
School must be accredited.

HOURS:
5/40 schedule.
