- Chipton Ross is seeking an Assembler (Electrical/Mechanical) for a contract opportunity in Hawthorne, CA
RESPONSIBILITIES:
" Operate high precision computer controlled automatic die attach machines for production of solid state devices - training to be provided
" Apply conductive and nonconductive epoxies to substrates using silk screens and/or syringes
" Machines will dispense epoxies automatically as programmed but output must be inspected and monitored by the machine operator
" Prepare, setup, and load dies to be attached by the die attach machine based on bill of material and assembly drawings
" Inspect all output of machine for accuracy and orientation of die placement, volume of epoxy, and damaged components
" Report issues to supervisor and seek assistance from senior machine operator or equipment technician as required
" Cleanroom and ESD controlled work environment
" Identify and select components to be integrated into subassembly and assembly units
" Perform rework and other duties as assigned and as requested
" Other assembly work may be assigned such as Molytab attach, substrate attach and manual die attach with provided training
" Determine method and sequence of assembly follow the process, procedures, layouts provided on Solid State relays
" Acquire job skills and learn company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks, required limited judgement, under close supervision with little or no role in decision-making but will receive detailed instructions on all work
" Will do some documentation (sign off on operation sheet), have basic computer skills for labor charging and production data entry
REQURIEMENTS:
" At least 6 months related experience in die attach of solid state components, a plus
" Knowledge of basic math addition, subtraction and division
" Must be able to use small hand tools such as soldering irons, microscope, tweezers, wire strippers, crimpers and other equipment for forming and trimming leads
" Have good hand-eye dexterity/coordination to assemble small parts in conjunction with a microscope, sitting and working with hand tools (tweezers, needle-nose pliers and x-acto knife)
" Must have basic reading, writing skills and good communication skills.
" Have the ability to learn and train on all phases of process and procedures and complete paperwork
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Will occasionally stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl, push/pull, and carry/lift up to 10lbs.
VISION:
Will frequently need to adjust focus and continuously use close vision. Occasionally will need to use color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Will be working in quiet conditions. Occasionally will work near moving mechanical parts and be in contact with moving mechanical equipment.
EDUCATION:
Accredited High School Diploma/GED and/or vocational training preferred
WORK HOURS:
Full-Time - First Shift
