Chipton-Ross is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer 4 for a contract/hybrid opportunity in Hazelwood, MO.

*This position is HYBRID, 2 days on site per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design. Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product''s environment. Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance. Leads development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied. Supports in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements. Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort. Works under minimal direction.

HARD REQUIREMENTS:
Legacy F-18 Experience "C-D-E-F models, flight control component experience

REQUIREMENTS:
· 5+ years’ experience with finite element modeling structural analysis methods and tools.
· Experience independently constructing, executing, reviewing, and managing structural finite element models using NASTRAN/PATRAN, ABAQUS, Hypermesh, Optistruct, Mechanica, etc.
· 7+ years’ experience in structural analysis.
· 7+ years’ experience structural design principles for aircraft primary structure (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, and repair techniques).
· 3+ years’ experience leading or managing aircraft structures or stress analysis teams.
· Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills.

DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
· 14+ years' experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· 5+ years’ experience leading or managing aircraft structures or stress analysis teams.
· 3+ years’ experience with design and analysis of high modulus composites.
· 3+ years’ experience with composites design and processing.
· Experience in post-production systems with emphasis in military aircraft sustainment, repairs, and modification programs.
· Experience with analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
· 3+ years’ experience with F/A-18 experience.

EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry, (e.g. Bachelor and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience such as PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master + 7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

TRAVEL: YES
Potential for travel 1-2 times per year. Potential for International travel to Switzerland.

FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT
WORK HOURS: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
