Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Flight Dynamics Engineer 2's for a contract opportunity in Rolling Meadows, IL.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Our Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) organization provides complex subsystems and defense electronics. As a member of the SEIT team, a Flight Dynamics engineer gains a deep understanding of how our systems architecture design process meets our mission level goals.
Tasking can include:
o Creating and refining Model Based System Engineering products (System behavioral models, Use Case realizations, State Machines, etc.)
o Generation and update of specifications in DOORS, including requirements traceability
o Capability assessments to predict requirement compliance
o Functional algorithm development
o Risk assessment and burn down of mitigation steps
o Generating and reporting system Technical Performance Measures
o Presenting analysis that shapes the system design and obtaining end-customer buy-in

As a part of the SEIT team, a Systems Design engineer is exposed to the front end Systems Engineering process and coordinates across many disciplines to ensure that the system description and requirements are properly and thoroughly defined, captured, and meet the mission need for the end customer.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
o BS degree in Aerospace Engineering or related technical degree with 5+ years (or MS and 3+ years, or PhD and 0 years) related experience
o Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking and problem solving skills
o Excellent decision making and communication (written and oral) skills
o Strong work ethic and the ability to work in an integrated product team (IPT) environment

PREFERRED:
o Advanced knowledge of orbital mechanics, dynamics and controls, rendezvous and proximity operations (RPO), orbit determination, and attitude planning
o Knowledgeable in orbit planning in LEO, GEO and cislunar regimes
o Experience in sensor selection and algorithm design to support space vehicle navigation
o Knowledgeable in space systems design and mission planning
o Knowledgeable in the use of COTS tools such as AGI's Systems Tool Kit (STK) and Orbital Determination Tool Kit (ODTK)
o Full life cycle experience developing, integrating, and deploying space systems
o Working knowledge of DOORS
o Recent experience in requirements allocation & derivation and verification traceability
o Model Based System Engineering experience, especially using Cameo
o Agile development experience, including use of Atlassian products
o Ability and willingness to travel

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree is required.
School must be accredited.

HOURS:
9/80 workweek. 100% On-Site.
