Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Warehouse Worker for a contract opportunity in Rockford, IL.

SUMMARY:
To pull and pack all hazardous and non-hazardous materials for domestic and international shipments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Pick, pack and ship dangerous goods/hazmat, temperature sensitive and non-dangerous goods/hazmat products for domestic and international shipments.
o Understand and follow regulations for shipping dangerous goods/hazmat products by ground, sea and air.
o Accurately perform daily cycle count activities
o Follow Kanban rules
o Apply 5S principles and sustain them
o Follow Standard Work and apply best practices
o Cross train to perform all warehouse functions
o Learn and pass required Dangerous Goods/Hazmat Processing Training
o Identify and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
o Work in a team environment
o Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
o Requires a minimum of 0-2 years related experience
o Use an RF Scanner Unit
o Work in multiple temperature environments on a regular basis (-20 C and 4 C)
o Safely handle dry ice
o Intermediate problem-solving ability in a fast-paced environment
o Basic computer skills to interact with Shipping Software and ERP programs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
o Walking/ standing 90%-100% of the time on the floor
o Move and lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis and 50 pounds on an occasional basis
o Must be able to provide own safety toe shoes

EDUCATION:
Accredited High School Diploma/GED

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
