Chipton-Ross is seeking a NOC Engineer for a contract opportunity in Kent, WA.
*This position is 100% ONSITE.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identifies, analyzes and documents requirements for network transport technologies and services. Creates and documents designs that conform to architectural and security standards. Prepares, deploys and coordinates installation of implementation packages per client standards. Performs maintenance of network systems. Collects and compiles data for budget planning. Coordinates high level implementation planning for strategic multi-technology insertion projects. Perform RF Spectrum duties supporting the client Global SatCom Services Network Operations Support (NOS) Organization. Primary duties will include providing exceptional customer service and operational support for satellite communications equipment. Individual must possess critical thinking skills, have a passion for innovative SatCom solutions, experience with cutting edge waveforms and the initiative to operate independently. Must be willing to take the initiative and formulate action plans given basic guidance. Must be a team player.
REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
o At least 4 years of experience in support of installations, repair, troubleshooting or maintenance of satellite communications electronic systems or equipment (MILSATCOM).
o Ability to write test reports and present results to management and customers.
o Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Level Security clearance.
o Must be available to support 24 hour on-call requirements.
DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
o Have a minimum of two (2) years' experience operating in a tactical satellite environment understanding LNA/LNB, up and down converters, Fiber optic/Coax/Ethernet Cable, Spectrum Analyzers, Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) and Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) modems (satellite modems) and Modem Hub operations.
o Shall have experience and skill with commercial and military satellite and commercial TDMA/FDMA modems required.
o On call with NOC 24/7
o HCX beam testing for baseline analysis.
o RFI (RF Interference) analysis and investigation.
o Ability to modify existing scripts (VI).
o Sun Conjunction documentation
o Travel to any of our worldwide locations for engineering/installation support.
o Work with Communication specialists on aircraft as needed for troubleshooting.
o Training with new satcom staff and the NOC.
o Ongoing administration of the client customer portal.
o Kratos (RF over IP) deployment planning, documentation, buildout and support.
o DataPath CCT-120 deployment planning, documentation, buildout and support.
o LPT plot creation, layout, training, documentation, configuration changes and support.
o Newtec - training, deployment planning, documentation, buildout and support.
o Inventory of Satcom/RF Devices
o Shipment of Satcom/RF Devices
o SAS RF documentation. Experience with MS Excel and Visio.
o On call with NOC 24/7 and serve as a Tier III SatCom resource for NOC
o Investigate and resolve SatCom anomalies.
EDUCATION:
Accredited education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

WORK HOURS: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
