Chipton-Ross is seeking a System Safety Engineer for a hybrid contract opportunity in Orlando, FL.
This position is 50% onsite, 50% remote.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position is for a System Safety engineer supporting special programs development effort. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing System Safety Program Plan per MIL-STD-882 to include various hazard analyses: System Requirements Hazard Analysis, Preliminary Hazard Analysis, Safety Critical Items List, and Safety Assessment Report.
The candidate works with systems and software engineering on architecture definition and use cases in support of Cameo modeling. A successful candidate will spend a majority of the time working in a team environment, with direction and guidance provided by a senior team member.
Support the program by developing hazard analyses
o Presentation material to support System Requirements Review (SRR) and Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR)
o Assist in requirements development and verification methods.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Strong written and oral communication skills
o Interacts well in a team atmosphere with engineers, suppliers, program managers and customers
Familiar with conducting various hazard analyses
Mil-std-882 required.
DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:
Experienced with MS Office applications including high level of proficiency with Access and Excel
o Candidate should be a self-starter capable of performing tasks with little direction
o Effective analytical problem solving skills, the ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy
o Prior experience with shoulder fired missiles and man-rating process/approvals
o Familiarity with Cameo
EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in an engineering discipline
