- Chipton-Ross is seeking a System Administrator 3 for a contract opportunity in Hazelwood, MO.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
P-8 Training Systems.
Performs system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture. Provides problem resolution and technical support for delivery systems. Provides support for the design, validation and configuration management of computing delivery systems. Administers users system access and works to protect information to meet security requirements. Monitors system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning.
- Manages all aspects of a Windows or Linux environment, including scripting.
- Analyzes computing requirements. Leads a multi-disciplined range of technical systems and application activities.
- Leads activities to install, configure and maintain multiplatform systems hardware, software and components.
- Leads activities to plan, develop, design, and integrate all computer applications.
- Plans and coordinates highly complex software and hardware for enterprise release.
- Ensures systems conforms to architectural objectives.
- Evaluates complex system's production readiness and supportability.
- Performs the restoration of complex computing service operations.
- Performs complex system problem identification and resolution.
- Leads activities to integrate security solutions into information systems.
- Develops project plans for the implementation of Linux systems into a computing environment.
HARD REQUIREMENTS:
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification.
- 3+ years of experience with performing system administration tasks on Windows or Linux hosts including installing security patches and making configuration changes to support security requirements.
- 3+ years of experience with installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering support for Windows 7 or higher.
- May lift up to 35lbs max.
- Successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment - OJT or formal classroom training.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years of experience with installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering support for Oracle Linux/RHEL 6 or higher.
5+ years of experience with installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering support for Windows 7 or higher.
3+ years of experience with installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering support for RHEL 6 or higher.
Packaging and updating the base Linux operating systems installations.
Strong Knowledge of Kickstart Scripts.
Strong Knowledge of Bash (specific).
Packaging and updating the base Linux operating systems installations.
Creating configuration modules in puppet, Ansible and making shell scripts.
Work with other teams to define the standard practices and the technology stack used to support our customers.
Manage the execution of break/fix requests and larger long-term projects to improve the technology stack.
Installation and integration of Windows and Linux operating systems and related COTS products.
Develop and manage the workflow tools and respective metrics to ensure the delivery of services and team development.
Evaluating and effectively communicating complex system problems and resolution.
Integrate security solutions (McAfee, Splunk, HBSS) into information systems.
Administering user system access and establishing safeguards to protect information to meet security requirements.

EDUCATION:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.). Education must be accredited.
WORK HOURS:
Full-Time
7 am - 4 pm

Domestic & International Travel Required-40% travel to international or domestic - manager can't give location at this time. Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
