- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Human Factors Engineer for a contract opportunity in Skaneateles, NY.
This position is 100% onsite.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Act as a subject matter expert for project teams in applying Human Factors standards and best practices to the Baxter Product Development process.
o Act as a subject matter expert in applying regulatory standards to Medical Device and SW development. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in human factors engineering.
o Supports creation of user needs, claims and critical tasks during product requirements phase.
o Supports analysis of use errors and their potential impacts for teams to improve product and interface designs including leading multi-functional team discussions as required.
o Conduct user research, usability testing, and user-centered design activities to ensure our products meet customers' needs and mitigate risk effectively.
o Design, plan, execute, analyze, and report using qualitative and quantitative research as part of formative study evaluation which may include but are not limited to heuristic evaluation, expert review, simulated use studies, and actual use studies.
o Tracks day-to-day status of project tasks, issues, and concerns.
o Support Human Factors and Usability testing and customer research. Serve as support and/or contact for external vendors and R&D teams during Design Validation and Summative Human Factors Validation.
o Prepare and present reports, charts, and graphs to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
o Must be able to balance the needs of different stakeholders within Baxter from hardware and software Engineering to Marketing, Regulatory, Clinical Affairs, project management and Design Assurance.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
o Detail oriented with strong organization and time management skills and the ability to multi-task across a diverse scope of responsibilities, projects and people.
o Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to facilitate and work effectively in diverse, multi-functional teams.
o Comfortable with direct interaction with medical professionals in clinical environments.
o Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
o Continuous improvement / lean experience or interest desired.
o Experience with SAP preferred.
EDUCATION:
Accredited A Bachelor's degree or higher and 4+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
o Human Factors Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience Design, Biomedical Science or Engineering

1st Shift
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
