Chipton-Ross is seeking a Product Repair/Modification Technician B for a contract opportunity in NAS Lemoore, CA
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Searching for an F/A-18 Avionics Technician to join the F/A-18 Component Repair program team.
o Disassembles systems components to support the correction of failures or implement changes.
o Performs routine troubleshooting of avionics systems to isolate faulty electronic and mechanical components.
o Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
o Inspects component before installation or usage to verify cleanliness and serviceability of components.
o Fabricates and modifies aerospace products according to specifications.
o Works under general supervision.
Test and troubleshoot electronic circuitry to fault isolate and identify the malfunctioning discrete or active components (microcircuits, transistors, capacitors, resistors, etc.), with 4 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Capable of performing repairs and conducting final acceptance testing on avionic equipment. Capable of reading and interpreting assembly drawings and electronic schematics. Experience in soldering to a high-reliability standard such as MIL-STD-2000 or J-STD-001C, and ability to inspect own work for compliance to quality standards. Experience in operating electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, frequency counters, spectrum analyzers, etc. Experience using various hand tools to (dis)assemble avionic equipment. Capable of organizing and prioritizing workload. Capable of using Windows-based computers. Ability to travel to both domestic and international locations (on short notice). Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance and access to the Lemoore Naval Air Station is required. Good verbal and written communication skills.
HARD REQUIREMENTS:
o Minimum of 1 year experience working on Avionics systems.
o Experience working on a diverse team.
o Successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment - OJT or formal classroom training
EDUCATION:
Accredited Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).
WORK HOURS:
Full-Time
5:30 AM - 2:00 PM
MISCELLANEOUS:
Applicants responding to this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements by currently possessing the ability to view classified government information.
100% Onsite.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
