Chipton-Ross is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Worker for a contract opportunity in Bothell, WA.
SUMMARY:
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for handling materials, receiving, and shipping products both domestically and internationally. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and detailed oriented individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate must have the ability to prioritize and follow through in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pick/pull orders by acquiring material/products from inventory Use material handling equipment as required to pick product, i.e., hand truck/ pallet truck.
Ship product in order management system according to Standard Operating Procedures Place bookings with freight forwarders and arrange export transportation according to shipping requirements Coordinate with forwarder and relevant internal departments Maintain compliance with government regulations regarding Import/ Export activities including shipments of product, components, or services.
Complete and maintain proper records according to company policy regarding Global Trade Compliance Examine, sort, arrange, count, and pack items for storage in accordance with established procedures Complete proper paperwork and use ERP software to indicate quantities issued and Lots/serial numbers being picked. Move orders to the appropriate staging area. Perform all required warehouse transactions in the inventory management system.
Routinely push and pull pallets of materials in a warehouse environment Align with all warehouse safety procedures Perform general housekeeping duties (5S areas)
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Shipping experience preferably 6months to a year. Both domestic and international.
Knowing excel and navigate through a computer system.
Work required overtime based on business needs May perform other duties as the need arises and/or assigned.
Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to work independently and safely Experience working in a warehouse environment Previous experience using an ERP System Use with Microsoft tools (Outlook, Excel, Word) Experience with Continuous Improvement and 5S theories and principles Functional knowledge of shipping and inventory control procedures General understanding and experience with Global Trade Compliance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
Regularly climb and reach
Works in a warehouse environment under various temperatures; is required to lift up to 50 lbs. and may be required to stand for long periods of time while performing duties. Must be able to work safely with materials and equipment.
HARD REQUIREMENTS:
Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have skills: Shipping, detail oriented, fast paced, attention to detail, team player, work with a team. Can lift around 30-50lbs.
Must possess export knowledge
EDUCATION:
Accredited Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
WORK HOURS:
Full-Time; 7:00 AM - 3:30 M-F.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
