Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Weights & Mass Property Engineer 4 for a contract opportunity in Berkeley, MO.

*This position is 100% ONSITE.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Leads a team of Mass Properties engineers to control weight and balance characteristics of the aircraft in order to meet performance requirements
o Responsible for developing and presenting weight status or technical data to program management, the customer or design groups
o Guides and mentors other mass properties engineers on the program
o Responsible for coordination of full aircraft weighing and weight reports
o Determines approaches to and leads development of, complex weight, balance and mass properties data
o Leads the definition of complex weight, balance and mass properties related design requirements
o Participates in developing challenging customer specification commitments
o Determines approaches to and leads development of, vehicle or system configuration guidance
o Leads high-level weight control efforts
o Oversees the estimation, calculation, measurement and verification of mass, weight, stiffness and inertias
o Leads development and maintenance of weight, balance and mass properties accounting systems and oversees weight and balance reports
o Creates innovative concepts and leads the development and implementation of new processes and tools
o Works under minimal direction.
Work statement is a non-managerial role, non-leadership role

HARD REQUIREMENTS:
o 5+ years of Mass properties experience
o Experience with aircraft weight and center of gravity estimation, calculation, verification and statistical analysis

DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
o Worked directly with military customers on programs
o Experience with the Common Mass Properties Analysis Tool (CMPAT)
o 3+ years' experience with engineering Bills of Material (BOMs) and Product Data Management (PDM) systems
o Experience with Product Data Management tools/systems such as TeamCenter and ENOVIA
o 3+ years' experience with 3D solid modeling software applications (e.g. NX, Catia, CADD)
o Experience with applicable industry recommended practices (SAWE RP 7 & 8) and Joint Service Technical Manual for Aircraft Weight and Balance
o 3+ years' experience with weights and/or mass properties engineering
o Experience with Weight Control methods and techniques

EDUCATION:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT
WORK HOURS: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
