Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking a Technical Data Writer 3 for a contract opportunity in Ogden, UT.

*This position is 100% ONSITE.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will be responsible to lead and have direct oversight of all editing and technical writing for all LMTF data documentation. This includes the design and development of new written documentation (or existing documentation revisions) and recording meeting minutes as required. The technical writer will report directly to the LMTF Test Programs Manager while regularly working with lab personnel, management, and Air Force personnel.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Manage a variety of documentation activities, including user Standard Operating Procedures, Operation and Maintenance Manuals, checklists, workflows, white papers, briefing materials, power point presentations, basis of estimate, and job guides with the support and inputs of technical subject matter experts
o Organize and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
o Proofreads and edits written documents, correspondence, test plans and test reports for grammatical accuracy and readability
o Support programs by recording meeting minutes, compiling, and distributing necessary action items, preparing data documentation deliverables
o Helps to create new written documentation and briefing presentation charts

HARD REQUIREMENTS:
If hired, successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment.

REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
o Minimum 7 years of industry experience
o Expert in MS Word, and MS Power Point
o Exceptional verbal and written communication
o Ability to identify and correct formatting errors in MS Word
o Format and write technical documentation with the use of a style guide, as well as input from subject matter experts

DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
o Experience working with the U.S. Air Force or other DoD agencies
o Experience working in a laboratory or industrial setting, communicating technical matter

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
o Sit, stand, climb stairs

EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited College in English, Journalism, Technical Writing, or related field of study (required).

FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT
WORK HOURS: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

MISCELLANEOUS:
Applicants responding to this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements by currently possessing the ability to view classified government information.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
