Chipton-Ross is seeking a Printed Circuit Board Layout Technician for a contract opportunity in El Segundo, CA.

Create Printed Circuit Board layouts from electrical schematics using CAD software tools. Layout traces, power, ground. Work with mechanical engineers to ensure proper mechanical fit of the final PCB. Draw component symbols and footprints for new parts. Work with electrical engineers to ensure layout meets design requirements, including EMI, power capacity and signal impedance. Layout BGA components, including FPGAs, microprocessors and memory. Work with fab houses to meet class 3 requirements and fix any issues.

Completed vocational trade school, 4 year Apprenticeship program, or equivalent industry experience.
1.Minimum 5 years' experience using eCAD layout tools for PCB layout
2.Experience with multi-layer PCB layouts using BGAs
3.Understanding of IPC design requirements
4.Understanding of fabrication, assembly and documentation processes
5.Understanding of signal integrity principles, like crosstalk, stubs, reflections and grounding
IPC is the least important, followed by eCAD. PCB layout experience is the key skill we are looking for - we can train for the other two. If it helps to expand the pool of candidates, please feel free to drop IPC and eCAD requirements as necessary.

Experience with Siemens PADS software
Experience with high-speed (1GHz+) PCB layouts

High school diploma or GED required.
School must be accredited.

5/40 schedule.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
