Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking 20 Fuel Cell Mechanics for a contract opportunity in San Antonio, TX.

*This position is 100% ONSITE.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Removal and reinstallation of structural brackets, supports, vents, tubes, and component assemblies in aircraft fuel tanks.
o Performs dry capacity checks
o FOD free inspections prior to tank closure, fuel tank leak repairs/leaks checks, and drain/air purge fuel tanks.
o Required to perform fuel system maintenance & pressurization checks as required.
o Required to perform Resistance Measurement and Seal installations to support fuel systems
o Performs fuel tank maintenance safety tasks including clearing the aircraft when applying electrical power, using grounding safety devices, performing lock-out/tag-out, and performing Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) tests.
o Defuels and refuels aircraft as required.
o Applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as; blueprints or manufactures' manuals.
o Read and follow the client and provided technical data, blueprints, engineering drawings, standard operating procedures, and manufacturing specifications in the maintenance processes.
o Provides troubleshooting knowledge, inspection, repair, modification, replacement of aircraft fuel components and systems and follow-on operational checks.
o The mechanic will be required to access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate on-line parts and discrepancy requests.
o Perform efforts associated with flight controls installation, removal and rigging. Landing gear ops check, door rigging and servicing of aircraft

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
o The candidate must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
o Exposure to noise, working on elevated platforms
o Use personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hand, and arms as required.
o Pass visual acuity and color perception tests
o Experience understanding and interpreting detailed written and verbal work instructions and processes
o Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous material
o Obtain & maintain training certifications as required to support assignment responsibilities
o Occasional (1 to 3 hrs) finger manipulation
o On occasion, a 2-person lift may be necessary for weights greater than 50 lbs
o Frequent reaching overhead (3 to 6 hrs)
o Frequent walking on flat surfaces
o Frequent standing flat or uneven surfaces
o Frequent balancing on a ladder, steps, or uneven surfaces
o Occasional climbing on 3-12 ft ladders or stands
o Rotation of head/neck, sitting, crawling, squatting, bend/stoop, lying down, and operate foot controls for an extended period of time
o Occasional contact with metals
o Frequent exposure to noise
HARD REQUIREMENTS:
If hired, successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment.

REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
o 2+ years of experience working as a fuel tank aircraft mechanic
o 2+ years' experience reading schematics, technical data and work instructions
o Able to work various shifts and/or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays. Mission requirements and/or workload may require both scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
o Experience with Depot Level/General maintenance procedures.
o Experience reading and follow the client and provided technical data, blueprints, engineering drawings, standard operating procedures, and manufacturing specifications in the maintenance processes.
o Familiar with performing lock-out/tag-out, and performing Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) tests.

EDUCATION:
Accredited education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).

FULL TIME/VARIABLE SHIFT
WORK HOURS: All submitted candidates should be available to work variable shifts based on business need, 1st and 2nd.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
