Chipton-Ross is seeking a Material Handler I for a contract opportunity in Eugene, OR.

SUMMARY:
The Eugene team is looking for a Material Handler I to join their team. This position largely interacts with equivalent levels of internal personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Receive materials and/or finished goods on a daily basis.
o Verify the quality, type and amount of materials received are correct and that the appropriate documentation is present (e.g. packing list).
o Examine, sort, arrange, count, store, pick, and pack items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements.
o Prepare routine documentation.
o Prepare and ship materials and/or finished goods in a timely manner according to customer requirements.
o May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
o 2 year of material handling experience preferred.
o Good communication and customer service skills.
o Functional knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures.
o Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team environment.
o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and willingness to cross-train in multiple areas within Distribution.
o Flexibility with recurring work situations and tasks.
o Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position; errors in work could cause delays in schedules.
o Follow warehouse safety standards and use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
o Strong computer skills including familiarity with relevant software (Excel and Word) a plus.
o This position requires the individual to be ready to start work on-time daily and also may require overtime when demand fluctuates. Unplanned unapproved/missed-time is required to be kept at a minimum.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
o Works in a team based environment. Is required to lift up to 35 lbs. May be required to stand for long periods of time while performing duties.
o The above position will require you to work a flexible shift pattern.

HARD REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to work outside of regular work hours.
Must be able to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials.

EDUCATION:
Accredited High School Diploma or GED.

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time; Monday - Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
