Chipton-Ross is seeking a Structural Engineer 3 for a contract opportunity in Newport News, VA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.
o Candidate should have structural engineering experience to include performing structural evaluations, conducting building assessments, performing code review/interpretations and responding to emergent safety related issues in a fast paced, large industrial facility setting.
o Assist with performing unplanned event investigations and performing root cause analysis
o Have project management, communication, organizational and computer skills
o Critical/Analytical Thinking
o Communication
o Time Management
o Required PPE: Ear Muffs, Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Steel Toe Boots

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs. Analyzes damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling. Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis. Tools utilized may include CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer and a variety of software applications.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited College.

HOURS:
7:30AM-4:00PM (flexible). Potential hybrid with approval with manager after gaining experience.

ADDITIONAL:
