Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking an Application Developer for a hybrid contract opportunity in Topeka, KS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical execution of the development, integration, and testing of all components of complex software application systems to include requirements analysis and functional reviews.
Understand client requirements and how they translate to new application features.
Collaborate with development team and other IT staff to develop system, interface and architecture standards and perform technical/non-technical assessments.
Explore and evaluate new and approved technologies for use in creation and delivery of solution design in accordance with established architectural direction for new applications.
Prepare and follow policies and procedures to ensure corporate data security including NERC & SOX, and 10 CFR 810 compliance.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
5-6 years of applications programming experience
Experience and knowledge of multiple programming languages and/or system environments along with a minimum 5 year relational database and 3 years of application/system integration experience.
Proven experience as an application developer with expert knowledge of best practices in software development, application security and configuration management/code deployment.
Expertise in multiple major application systems/business functions.
Develop and Maintain .NET Applications (C#):
Design, code, and manage .NET applications ensuring performance, quality, and responsiveness, especially in the area of process queuing.
Azure Cloud Services:
Implement and maintain Azure services, including apps, functions, SQL databases, and more.
DevOps Practices:
Champion DevOps methodologies and implement continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the development teams, QA, and product managers to streamline development and deployment processes.
Automation:
Automate tasks and processes to improve workflow efficiency and reduce manual overhead.
Monitoring and Performance Tuning:
Monitor applications and services, and perform tuning to ensure high availability and performance.
Security:
Enforce security best practices for cloud services and application code.
Testing:
Develop and execute automated and/or manual tests to ensure product quality.
Documentation:
Create and maintain detailed documentation for code, solutions, and system configurations.
Problem-Solving:
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and accurate manner.


EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or other related field and 6 years of applications programming experience
OR
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or other related field and 5 years of applications programming experience

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time
4/10 work schedule
Monday through Thursday position from 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM or 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
